Artwork Description:
Sear recalls the dry heat of bushland. This painting is made with oil and oil stick on cradled board.
Artist Statement:
This work was made in response to the sensation of being in the tinder-dry heat of bushland. I love to draw in my local bushland setting, especially in the warm, still air noticing that life continues to go on all around me.

Artist Bio:
Inga Dalrymple’s paintings and drawings capture fleeting impressions and memories of her surroundings to create layered surfaces. Inga is interested in how a picture can start as one thing, an idea from a memory or a feeling and end up as something completely unexpected. Working from Sydney on Gadigal land, she graduated from the National Art School in 1997 and shortly after pursued a career in education. In and among life’s demands, Inga continues to trace her associative encounters in visual notes later transcribed in the studio. She has participated in numerous Australian and international group exhibitions, held two solo shows, and been a finalist in numerous art prizes. In addition to her practice, she volunteers at NAS Galleries. Inga is represented by Otomys, Melbourne, and Amelie Du Chalard, Paris.
