Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigments are pure colour in fine powder form. Each colour contains the highest grade modern and traditional pigments sourced from the world’s finest pigment houses. They can be used to create your own unique and customised paints (once combined with a binding medium such as glycerin, safflower oil or linseed oil). Acrylic, oil, tempera and watercolour paints can be created when using Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigments. They can also be used in encaustic painting.
Each colour in the Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigment range has a different set of characteristics from transparency and tinting strength. Factoring this into account, different binder medium volumes will be required to achieve a usable paint whilst not all colours in the range are suitable for creating all types of paint.
Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigments may also be added to artist quality resin to create colour tints. Add a small amount after the resin and hardener mixture has been combined. Mix the colour pigment well, repeating the process until the desired shade is achieved.
All colours in the Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigment range are ASTM rated, using pure lightfast single pigments with no blending and are included in the formulation to create our Professional Quality Artists’ Oil Colours, Watercolours, Gouache, Pastels and Primers ranges.
When working with Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigments it is important to ensure you are in a well-ventilated area. To avoid breathing dust you should wear a dust or respirator mask, protective glasses and nitrile or latex gloves. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using Art Spectrum Dry Ground Pigments.
