Have you ever wanted to capture the essence of a person with just a few expressive strokes? Join artist Cheryl Simpson for her charcoal portrait lessons, where you'll explore the fundamentals of portraiture in a creative, supportive, and inspiring environment.
The lessons begin with fundamental skills such as blocking in with charcoal, subtracting, and measuring to achieve accurate proportions. This hands-on approach makes the learning process both accessible and enjoyable.
As the lessons progress, students learn to refine their work to reveal the personality and character of their subject. It’s a rewarding journey from the initial sketch to a captivating, expressive portrait.
All materials—including charcoal, paper, erasers, and tools—are provided, so participants only need to bring their enthusiasm.
