Artwork Title: Mother

Artwork Medium: Oil on Canvas

Year Created: 2024

Artwork Description:

"Mother" was inspired by by my observation on my wife's psychological and physical development during her pregnancy. Seeing her gradually changing to a strong and loving mother makes me want to keep her beauty and express these spirits in this portrait. The subject has a thin type of body which creates a strong contrast with her determined look in a relative simple background. The white dress represents her pure love to our child. I tried to create a subtle smiling expression which gives more layers of emotions to the subject and also unifies the simplicity and complexity I wanted to express in this painting.

Artist Statement:

I am a self-taught painter who is inspired by many great masters through history. My works are created in a fine and realistic base but exploring artistic twist in a subtle way. I work primarily with oil on canvas and linen, using a traditional process of layering to achieve the final effect. Over the years, I built my techniques by doing master copies, and by applying what I learnt, I have created many original works for my families and friends. My works are mostly portraitures which I have the most passion to paint and which I think is the best way to express my feelings and artistry.
