Resin is a gorgeous medium to use for pouring style art, making it a fun DIY art project. There are various elements needed for resin pouring art. Firstly you will need the surface and it is best to start with a wooden board as they are a strong surface that can support the centre where the resin will often be poured.
Some base resin needs to be spread thinly over the board to seal the surface for the upcoming pour. Once that’s been completed, you can then begin selecting the various colours that you will be mixing with the pouring resin. There are a lot of different options here, including acrylic paint, inks and pigment powders.
When you have your coloured resins, you add a bit of each of them into your main pouring cup so that it contains all your chosen colours. This cup of different coloured resins can then be poured onto your sealed wooden board with excess to fall off of the edges of the board. It is often poured in the centre, but you can choose where! Just remember you may need to add more resin if your initial cup doesn’t cover the whole surface. Leave it to dry for 24 hours and it is finished!
