Dalchem Crystal Clear Resin Kits are versatile two-part epoxy system containing resin and hardener solutions. Mixing is easy, simply use equal parts (1:1) by volume of each solution stirring slowly and leave to set at room temperature. Curing time will depend on environmental temperatures but on average you will have around 20-40 minutes where the product is still workable before the curing process begins. This is when the mixed product is no longer easily pourable. (Note that hotter climates over 24°C will cause the resin to cure faster). It will take around 6-12 hours for complete curing of Dalchem Crystal Clear Resin to occur. The variance in set time is determined by the thickness and surface area. For example 1 litre of resin spread across a 1m² surface at 1mm thick will cure slower than when applied to a 0.25m² surface at 10mm thick.
Dalchem Crystal Clear Resin Kits provide dimensions to 2D artwork with a high-quality water clear finish on multiple surfaces from wood, canvas artworks, decoupage and more. For creative finishes and effects, pigment dyes, alcohol inks along with glitter, crushed glass, pearl essence and rocks can be added to the resin mixture. If using moulds opt for silicone versions if casting and avoid using plastic ones as they are unable to handle the clear resin and can react or melt. Dalchem Crystal Clear Resin Kits contain UV stabilisers to help resist yellowing for longer. Whilst Dalchem Crystal Clear Resin Kits are a low toxicity formulation making it safer than some other resins on the market, you should still use in a well-ventilated area wearing protective eyewear, gloves and an apron.
