Derwent Paint Pens are fine liner paint pens filled with highly lightfast, opaque water-based paint. Derwent Paint Pens are a creative drawing and painting tool and are perfect for fine detail or creating a variety of effects. The vivid colours in each pack can be layered or blended. Whilst wet, the paint is water-soluble, so why not use a watercolour brush to create beautiful transparent washes, when dry use the Derwent Paint Pens to overlay with delicate fine expressive marks. Once dry, the paint is waterproof and permanent (on porous surfaces such as paper and untreated wood.
Derwent Paint Pens are suitable for use on fabric, glass or wood in addition to paper, offering versatility to the user and exciting creative possibilities. Derwent Paint Pens can also be used in conjunction with other media such as watercolour paints, acrylics or even spray paints.
They feature a high quality very durable 0.5mm Japanese nib. Prime the pen before use by gently pushing the nib down on a flat surface to release the colour. Tapping the nib will result in flooding the nib with colour (which can be used in your artwork to create puddles of paint to manipulate around the surface, alternatively you can flick or splatter colour around).
