In this workshop participants will complete a “Magnolia & Banksia” A3 still life, using Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour & Fabriano oil colour paper.
Discover the colour mixing properties across a limited palette of earths, blues, yellow, magenta and white. Painting processes presented include underpainting using a traditional “grisaille” technique, then working with both thinned and impasto oil colour. Participants will be shown an easy transfer technique to begin their painting with minimal drawing time.
Explore the versatility of Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour which has been specifically formulated to be used without hazardous solvents and cleaned up with water. The colour has been formulated to appear and work just like conventional oil colour. Especially good for artists who share a workspace or don't want solvents in school or at home. Using Artisan oils, mediums and varnishes with the range of colours will ensure the resulting combination continues to be water mixable.
