Gamblin Relief Inks are professional quality oil-based inks containing pure pigments. They are bound using high quality Burnt Plate Oil (raw linseed oil). Suitable for all forms of relief printmaking techniques including woodblock, linocut and solar plate.
Gamblin Relief Inks are an ideal stiffness and tack to hold detail in your prints regardless of the printmaking technique. The ink will roll out smoothly and easily transfers solid fields of colour and fine detail from block to paper.
Gamblin Relief Inks are also popular for monotype printing processes due to the ink’s viscosity. Their high pigment load allows you to roll out thin layers of colour without compromising intensity of the ink colour with this painterly style, especially if printing multiple layers of colour. Inks are intermixable to create additional colours and tones.
To clean your brushes during your painting session, wipe excess paint from your brushes with a rag. Once excess paint is removed, dip your brush in Gamblin Safflower Oil. Then, wipe the safflower oil and any remaining pigment off your brush using a second rag and continue working. After your painting session is finished, brushes and tools can be further cleaned using Gamblin Gamsol or soap and water.
