Step into the world of expressive mark-making in this black and white Gelli plate printmaking workshop, where we use Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics to explore landscape forms through texture, tone, and contrast. Without the distraction of colour, you’ll dive deep into the fundamentals of shape, composition, and light to create striking monochromatic prints.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn the essentials of Gelli plate printing in black and white
- Use a range of tools and techniques to create depth, movement, and atmosphere
- Explore landscape-inspired imagery—from abstract impressions to bold silhouettes
- Experiment with layering, negative space, and texture to evoke mood and place
- Discover how Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics behave on the plate and how to control opacity and detail
Attendees will get:
- A series of one-of-a-kind black and white monoprints
- New skills in texture creation, layering, and contrast
