Humbrol Enamel Paints are recognised worldwide as one of the largest and most progressive brands in the field of modelling, hobbies and crafts suitable for both beginners or experienced modelmakers. Founded over 100 years ago they are synonymous with quality.
Humbrol Enamel Paints are speciality solvent based paints that can be used on a variety of surfaces from wood, glass, metal, plastic and hardboard. They dry to a hard finish that will not peel off and can be used for both indoor and outdoor surfaces.
Prior to using Humbrol Enamel Paints, use a layer of primer first to ensure an even finish on the surface is achieved. As Humbrol Enamel Paints have a thick consistency, stir the paint thoroughly in the tin before use, scooping a small amount of paint onto a plastic palette using a brush. This will assist you in not applying the paint too thickly resulting in a more consistent coverage without brush strokes and minimising the amount of paint used.
Humbrol Enamel Paints can be thinned using a solvent based thinner but additional coats may be required to achieve the desired coverage. Ensure the previous coat of paint has dried thoroughly before applying a new coat. If painting model parts that require glueing, carefully scrap the dried Humbrol Enamel Paint away from the surface to be glued to ensure a good bond.
Humbrol Enamel Paints take 6-24 hours to be touch dry depending on the environmental conditions. Note metallic colours in the Humbrol Enamel Paints range take up to 10 days to fully dry.
Keep the neck around the Humbrol Enamel Paints tin free from paint before replacing the lid to maintain a good seal. Store at room temperature and mix thoroughly before use.
Use in a well-ventilated area and wear protective eyewear and mask when using Humbrol Enamel Paints. Clean brushes with a solvent based cleaner.
