GOLDEN Acrylic Gesso Semi-Opaque

GOLDEN Acrylic Gesso is a ready-to-use semi-opaque white primer that is suitable for oil and acrylic painters alike. This flexible formulation will dry without cracking, even when multiple layers are applied or when rolling your canvas after priming. Use GOLDEN Acrylic Gesso to prepare your surface for painting, suitable for paper, card, wood, canvas, and more!

To apply GOLDEN Acrylic Gesso, use it directly from the container or thin it up to a maximum of 25% for a more fluid application or spray application. Apply the gesso with a brush, roller, or palette knife in thin, even layers, allowing to dry before each coat.

For canvas and linen, apply at least 2 coats, and a minimum of 3 coats for oil paintings! GOLDEN Acrylic Gesso will be touch dry within approximately 2 hours, depending on humidity and temperature.

Alternatively, GOLDEN Acrylic Gesso can be combined with acrylic colours, mixing them to produce a tinted gesso. This can be useful for changing the colour of your surface at the same time as priming it for painting.
