Hilldav Etching Press Reduction Drive 2136 is a compact press that’s perfect for students, schools, or studios. It is an ideal tool for your metal plate, lino, and wood block printing applications!

Hilldav Etching Press Reduction Drive 2136 features a bed plate manufactured from Bakelite, which is a black laminate that’s strong, durable, and lightweight. This makes is a great alternative to steel beds! The press also features rollers made from heavy gauge machined steel running on self-aligning ball bearings. The top roller is a high-quality machine ground.

Gear reduction models such as this Hilldav Etching Press Reduction Drive 2136 are driven via a roller chain from the hand wheel to the bottom roller and therefore requires less effort to drive the bed plate through the roller. The chain wraps around the sprocket engaging with many teeth thus reducing the load per tooth. Use this press with felt blankets of thickness 1.6mm – 4.8mm.
