Arches Watercolour Paper Rolls
Hilldav Press Reduction Drive 1836
Description
Hilldav Etching Press Reduction Drive 1836 features a bed plate manufactured from Bakelite, a strong, durable, and lightweight black laminate, making it an excellent alternative to steel beds. The press also includes rollers made from heavy-gauge machined steel, running on self-aligning ball bearings, with a high-quality machine finish on the top roller.
It is equipped with a gear reduction drive with a gear ratio of 2.5:1, a heavy-duty shaft, and bearings.
Gear reduction models like the Hilldav Etching Press Reduction Drive, 1836 use a roller chain from the hand wheel to the bottom roller, reducing the effort required to drive the bed through the rollers. The chain wraps around the sprocket, engaging with many teeth, thus reducing the load per tooth.
You can use this press with felt blankets ranging from 1.6mm to 4.8mm in thickness.
