Jacquard Marbling Starter Kit

Create colourful and unique swirl patterns on paper, fabric and more with the Jacquard Marbling Starter Kit. Marbling involves creating a pattern of paints that floats on the surface of a liquid. Paper or fabric is then laid on the surface to pick up the paint and transfer the design.

Papers that work well for marbling are absorbent and contain little to no sizing - rice paper, printmaking paper, drawing paper, pastel paper. Have fun experimenting with different types to see which work well. TIP: It is reccommended to start with black marbling ink as this spreads the most giving the rest of the colours definition and contrast, gently drop the marbling ink one at time close to the surface. Eye droppers, squeeze bottles, straws or brushes are great ways to apply colour. Kit Contains:

• 6 x 14ml bottles of Marbling colours (Red, Blue, Yellow, Violet, Black, and White)
• 14g Synthetic Gall
• 113g Alum (mordant)
• 28g Carrageenan

You'll need:

• Shallow tray approx 2" deep
• Fabric or Paper (to marble on)
• Newsprint
• Combs, hair picks, skewers
