Winsor & Newton Professional Picture Varnish Aerosol Sprays

Winsor & Newton Professional Picture Varnish Aerosol Sprays are a final varnish which provides permanent protection similar to traditional bottled varnish but with the added convenience of an aerosol spray. It is non-yellowing and durable, providing long lasting protection for acrylic and oil paintings against dirt, grease etc. It is removable with white/mineral spirit or turps allowing artists' to remove varnish in the medium term if required for cleaning and re-varnishing of a painting. Winsor & Newton Professional Picture Varnish Aerosol Sprays can also be used to preserve flowers, leaves and other organic matter.

Shake the container vigorously before use to ensure the contents are evenly mixed. Hold the container upside down and spray for a couple of seconds - this will send a spray of propellant only out of the nozzle and clear it. (Ensure the process is repeated at the end of use to clear the nozzle of build up). Spray the can in a vertical postion at least 25-30cm away from your work.

Avoid storing in temperatures below 15°. For porous, unprimed surfaces such as card, canvas, hardboard or plaster etc. apply a thin layer of gloss varnish before applying any matt or satin varnish.
