The Derivan Soft Carve Block is a smooth, flexible block made from a soft rubber that can easily be carved using lino tools. The perfect tool for printmakers of any level!
Prior to carving, hand draw your design directly onto the Derivan Soft Carve Block surface using pens, markers, or pencils. The softer material of these blocks is ideal for amateur printmakers, students, and hobbyists as an alternative to lino blocks, which can be a harder material to carve into.
The Derivan Soft Carve Block is double-sided so you can carve two separate designs per block. It can also be cut down to smaller sizes and shapes using a scalpel. For best results, use block printing inks to complete your prints after you finish carving.
Wash any residual water-based printing inks off the blocks using soap and water. Ensure your block is completely dry before re-using.
