    A beginner guide to brush tip markers

    Before taking the pen to your final design, test your skills on scrap materials. Start with a fine-tipped marker — offering more precision — and hold the pen close to the nib for more control. Change the pressure and angle of the nib to experiment with thick and thin lines. Once finished, allow 24 hours for your artwork to fully dry.

    Brush tip markers work best on thick paper and can bleed through pages. We recommend a ballpoint or gel pen if you plan to write in a notebook or thin colouring book.

    How long does it take a brush marker to dry?

    It depends on the type of paper you’re using. Generally speaking, brush markers will dry relatively quickly. If you’re using them on a project that needs to dry very quickly however, such as a greeting card, you may want to use a different type of marker.
