This oil painting workshop is based around the popular teaching method of Bob Ross.

Participants will use high quality Winsor & Newton Watermixable Oil Paints and palette knives from the jasart Elevate range.

Bob’s popularity has made a resurgence in recent years due to exposure via popular streaming sites such as Netflix and Youtube. It is a method of painting that aims to encourage the participation of all.

Suitable for beginners and intermediate aspiring artists alike. In this workshop we will paint a little mountain river scene. The goal is to show our attendees that anyone can have a go at painting with a little bit of confidence and direction.

Artist: James Duncan

James' art journey began like many others. As a child he was obsessed with drawing. He would spend hours drawing trees and botanicals. Copying images from books he had around the house. Later in life James's attention turned to painting. Experimenting from medium to medium, he eventually found his way to oil painting. Landscapes have always been one of his favourite genres and oils have yielded the best results for him. Although James paints predominantly in oils, drawing and sketching have also remained a constant. These tools aid the painting process in the form of compositional ideas and concepts. Jame's James’ goal is to remain hungry for the next composition. To continue to grow and develop his abilities to express himself through artworks. To share the things he have has learned along the way, and to encourage others on their own artistic path.
