Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits is the ideal medium to clean your oil painting tools, thin oil colours, and modify paint mediums. It’s a petroleum distillate with all the harmful aromatic solvents refined, so it is regarded as a non-hazardous material! This makes Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits ideal for use in classrooms and studios as there are no harmful solvent odours.
Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits are an excellent choice for cleaning up brushes, palettes, paint knives and more from your oil painting sessions.
Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits can also be used to thin oil colours. Stiff oil colours will immediately relax when a little Gamsol is added. Make sure you add only a small amount, as too much solvent being added to the oil colour can compromise the ability of the paint and form a film. It can also be used to modify and thin alkyd resin paint mediums. It should not be added to natural resin painting mediums (Dammar, copal, mastic).
Solvents should be stored out of reach of children. For safety, it’s recommended you use metal containers with clip on lids or wide glass jars with screw on lids for storing Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits.
