GAC 500 is a medium perfect for extending fluid acrylic paints. The unique balance of film hardness and flexibility offers artists increased leveling capability, increased mark resistance, and decreased dry film tack in their acrylic paints.
GOLDEN’s GAC 500 medium is 100% acrylic polymer, ideal for use with GOLDEN Fluid Acrylic Colours. It’s particularly useful in extending these paints for larger scale artworks as it results in minimal change to the colour and viscosity of your paints. Adding GAC 500 to GOLDEN Fluid Acrylic paints is a cost effective alternative when requiring large quantities of the same colour.
GAC 500 is also useful to hard-edge painters as a way to seal masking tape, resulting in cleaner edges for artworks. To use GAC 500 this way, apply it over masking tape using a brush, then let it dry before applying your paint layer.
For a good-spraying, fast-drying isolation coat, artists can mix 2 parts GAC 500 to 1 part High Flow Medium. GAC 500 dries to a high-gloss film with good transparency and clarity.
This medium is water-based and can be cleaned off tools and surfaces with soap and water.
