This creative endeavour not only adds a touch of uniqueness to your living spaces but also allows you to infuse your personality and artistic flair into every corner of your home. In this blog post, we will explore the captivating world of crafting your own home decor using FIMOair, shedding light on the myriad reasons why this is such a wonderful and rewarding idea.
What is FIMOair?
FIMOair, a remarkable air-drying modelling clay, has taken the crafting world by storm. Unlike traditional polymer clays that require baking, FIMOair solidifies when exposed to air, eliminating the need for an oven or kiln. Its lightweight and pliable nature make it a delight to work with, allowing you to sculpt, mould, and shape your imagination into reality.

Check out the tutorial below to discover how you can make your very own vase holder with FIMOair.
What you will need
STAEDTLER FIMOair Granite Effect Modelling Clay
STAEDTLER FIMO Acrylic Roller
FIMO Modelling Tools
FIMO Blades
How to do it
Roll out a block of FIMOair granite with the acrylic roller to create an approx. 6 mm thick sheet on a piece of baking paper.
Tip: To achieve an even thickness, you can place a pencil or a 5 mm-thick strip of cardboard next to the clay being rolled out. The acrylic roller can roll over the pencils to spread out the FIMO clay evenly.
Take one large and one small round cutting form and press out the shape. The small cutting form should be about the size of your test tube.
Tip: First position both cutting forms and make sure that the smaller of the two is in the middle. Then you can carefully cut out both.
Leave your vase holder to dry at room temperature for at least 24 hours, just as it is.
Tip: Leave the test tube in the FIMOair clay while drying, so that it stays securely in the holder later on.
Your vase holder is ready. You can repeat this process with other cutting forms in different shapes and sizes. There are no limits to your creativity!
