Duration: 45 minutes

If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, this might be the craft project for you. Using a template, cutting mat and knife you can create these gorgeous cardboard gingerbread houses. Not quite as tasty as the real thing, but you are sure to have a great time making them!

A great way to up-cycle cardboard boxes, you can decorate them with Pebeo Acrylic Markers to bring this winter wonderland scene to life!

  • Pebeo Acrylic Marker in White
  • Cutting mat
  • Craft knife
  • Pencil
  • Metal Ruler
  • All purpose glue
  • Tracing paper
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Battery powered tealight
  • House template

How to do it

  1. Arrange all your supplies. It is best to use a cutting mat and sharp knife for this project.
  2. Trace the house templates onto your cardboard with a pencil.
  3. With your craft knife and ruler cut around the edges and windows of your house shape.
  4. Using the Pebeo White Acrylic Marker, decorate your cardboard house by adding windows, doors, roof tiles and cornices. Glue the tracing paper to the inside of your windows.
  5. Fold up your house and glue the edges. You might want to use a clothes peg to hold the edges while the glue dries. Pop an electronic tealight inside to emit a warm, wintery glow.
  6. Arrange your winter wonderland scene. These houses look great on a window sill or mantelpiece. You can even hide presents inside!
