Jacquard Removable Water Based Resist is used to draw the outline of an image on silk fabric. It is particularly useful when creating batik as the resist washes out with warm water revealing the fabric underneath (in a similar way to masking fluid on paper prevents paint from penetrating the surface).
Jacquard Removable Water Based Resist holds a crisp line without spreading and will not shrink or pucker when dry. It helps to maintain shapes in your artwork and avoid colour from bleeding into each other.
It can be used in conjunction with Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow to contain the fluid dye into set areas of fabric. You may also tint the resist with any water-based dyes to create coloured lines (steaming will set any dye used, with the resist being removed when washed resulting in a coloured line without leaving a residue).
The ready-to use odourless formula can be applied with a brush, stenciled or poured into an applicator bottle for greater line control. Mix mixture prior to use as some settling can occur. Alcohol-free and non-toxic. If required a small amount of water may be added to thin the resist out.
