Liquitex Satin Gel Medium increases viscosity of acrylic paints, giving it a thicker consistency and dries to a satin finish. It also slows the drying time and enhances the appearance of brush strokes in your artwork.
Liquitex Satin Gel Medium can be mixed with Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic Paints to extend its volume and maintain viscosity or mixed into Liquitex Soft Body Acrylic Paints or Liquitex Acrylic Ink to extend its volume and thicken.
Like all Liquitex Mediums, it can extend the colour of your paints without affecting acrylic stability. It will maintain the paint’s adhesion, durability, and archival quality. This is semi-opaque when wet but dries transparent with a satin finish. When used very thickly it may dry semi-opaque. Liquitex Satin Gel Medium can be thinned by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give best results.
It can also be used directly as a collaging glue and fixative when applied with a brush.
Do not shake or vigorously over-brush as this can result in a foggy, hazy look when dry.
