The beauty of the peony lies in their huge round delicate petals and rich texture. It has spectacular cup-shaped flowers with neatly organized rows of concentric petals. They come in a range of colours. For this workshop we are painting pink and the most unusual colour Coral Charm. Participants will learn how to paint these peonies using high quality Winsor & Newton Professional watercolour paints. We learn how to achieve the curves and roundness of the petals by using the wet-on-dry and wet-on-wet techniques.
We will finish the painting by applying a quick wash using wet-on-wet technique. Adding a darker background creates contrast with bright colour of the flowers. This catches the viewer’s attention and creates a sense of drama!
This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediate level. If you have already painted flowers with watercolour but your paintings are not very exciting, this class is for you to learn how to bring your flowers to life.
