Derwent Graphite XL Blocks are highly versatile water-soluble blocks that can be used for wide coverage and expressive mark-making. They can be broken into pieces or grated into a powder for detailed and dry textures. When used wet, they are great for painting techniques like splattering and creating translucent washes. Each chunky block contains a high volume of material, equivalent to 8 pencils. The soft pastel-like XL block has been ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand for large-scale drawings. You can use the edges and corners of the block to add fine detail and line work to atmospheric and tonal artwork.
