Jacquard Airfix is an additive that acts as a catalyst to fix paint via air exposure when heat setting is not possible. It has been designed for use with Jacquard fabric paints and dyes such as Jacquard Textile Colours, Neopaque and Dye-Na-Flow, however it can also be used with most other acrylic fabric paints.
Activated by exposure to the air it is particularly useful for those 3D projects or objects such as sneakers, upholstery furniture, fabric lampshades and more. Jacquard Airfix can make fabric painting more accessible for artists, as there is no need to worry about heat setting the paint when you are finished decorating your fabric items!
To use, add 3 teaspoons/15ml of Jacquard Airfix to 470ml of water-based fabric paint. Discard any remaining mixture after 6 hours. Use in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves to avoid contact with skin. Wash hands with soap and water after use.
