This Make a Monster Art Kit comes with everything you need to create a big, bold monster artwork! This project is perfect for brightening up rainy days at home or adding colour to your school holiday activities!
Use the included templates to paint, cut, and glue your way through this activity, featuring bold colours, bright contrasts, and resulting in a fun artwork to frame and enjoy. The kit will see you tracing, painting, colour-mixing, and collaging, so you can really exercise your creative muscles
Participants will be stepped through this project in bite-size pieces. Stages will include tracing, gluing, collage, and the basics of colour mixing.

Actual kit contents may vary.
You may want to have a few extra household items on hand for this project, such as a jar of water to clean your brushes, scissors to cut out your templates and monster eyes (adult supervision is recommended for young artists), craft glue, and a paper plate or a palette for mixing your paints on.
To make your Monster:
- Paint a canvas board (included) in a nice bright colour and leave to dry.
- While your canvas board is drying, cut out your chosen monster template.
- Once the canvas board is dry, trace your monster onto the board! Then, colour in the traced lines using paint in another colour of your choice, making sure you cover up the pencil marks with your paint, too!
- Set the monster body aside to dry, and let’s get started on the eyeballs! Colour or paint them in however you wish, then cut them out ready to be added to the monster.
- Once the monster is dry, paint a funky mouth onto their body. You can do this wherever you like – it’s a monster, after all!
- Glue your eyes onto your monster wherever you like.
- Outline your monster using black paint and the smallest brush that came in your kit. While doing this, take care not to smudge any other wet paint such as the mouth, which may still be drying!
- Once the mouth is dry, outline the mouth and add some teeth too if you like – you can get creative with how your monsters look. If you like, add hair or polka dots or whatever else you can dream up! Enjoy getting creative with this project.
