Containing different grades of graphite pencils from 2H to 8B you will find a pencil suitable for your drawing needs. The grading relates to the hardness of the graphite. “H” grade pencils are hard and suitable for technical or detailed drawings producing a grey mark on paper. In comparison “B” grade pencils are soft and draw with a black colour. By experimenting you can determine which pencil you prefer depending on the drawing task chosen.
Use the sepia pencil to create mid-tones while the pierre noire pencil is ideal for darker areas of work as it gives off a dense, deep, matt black colour. The black and white charcoal pencils allow you to further add highlights and deeper shadows or shading.
This set also contains paper blending stumps. These blending stumps are made from tightly wound recycled paper with pointed ends which allow you to blend and smudge dry media. When the Jasart Paper Stump becomes dull or dirty, sharpen using the sandpaper sharpening block provided, or alternatively, peel away the paper layer to reveal a clean sharp point.
