Gather Your Supplies
You'll need some supplies before you start decorating your mug and coaster.
First, a plain tea cup or coffee mug. It could be white or coloured, any size or shape.
A pencil and paper will come in handy to plot out your design.
Then, pick up some Pebeo Porcelaine markers and paints in the colours of your choice. The Pebeo Porcelaine range is specifically designed for use on porcelain, ceramic, glass, and other non-porous surfaces. They are water-resistant and heat-resistant when cured.
You'll also need some small paintbrushes to apply the paint, as well as some rags or paper towels and a jar of water for cleaning your brushes.
An oven is required to set your design permanently onto your tile and mug.
Plan Your Design
It can be tricky to get the size of your letters right if you don’t plan your design. We recommend taking a piece of printer paper and wrapping it around your mug. Then cut it to size. Now you know how big the surface area of the mug is and you can experiment with the size of your text on a flat surface.
Paint Your Mug and Tile
Once you are happy with your design, you can have a go at painting it onto your mug and tile. Using the Pebeo Porcelaine paint and markers, let your creativity shine as you decorate.

Allow piece to dry for at least 24 hours to ensure paint is dry prior to baking in the oven. Place initially in a cold oven Once the temperature reaches 150°C, bake for 30-35 minutes. The colours will mimic a glazed enamelled appearance. Leave the piece to cool slowly in the oven before removing.
Note: Only surfaces that are not intended to come into contact with food should be decorated.
